International Students are Welcome at King's Schools
King’s Schools will begin accepting applications for the 2016-2017 academic year beginning in November 2015. The next incoming start date for International students is September 2016.
King’s Schools is no longer accepting international applicants for the 2015-2016 academic year. If you would like to be placed on a waiting list please send your name, contact information, and English Proficiency Exam results (see below for test options and requirements) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
King's Schools is SEVIS approved and authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students. Below is information that will answer your questions and will be helpful in applying for King's Schools.
Applying to King's Schools:
Complete and submit online application and $100 fee by the deadline of February 1st.
By the deadline of February 1st, please send all supplemental documents (see below for details) to our admissions office. Documents can be emailed to email@example.com or sent by mail to King's Admissions, 19303 Fremont Ave North - MS 95, Seattle, WA 98133. All documents must be received by February 1st to be eligible for admission review.
After February 1st, all completed application files (applications, fee, and supplemental documents) will be reviewed. All applicants will be notified by email about the results of the review process. Interview candidates will be selected and contacted to schedule an interview. Interviews will be conducted over Skype, if needed. High school applicants will complete a short writing assignment after spoken interview is completed.
All admission decisions will be made by March 1st. Applicants will be notified by email with the acceptance decision. The decision is based on the applicant's application, supplemental documents, interview, and fit within King's Schools.
Once accepted, the guardian named on the application will receive an enrollment contract. When the contract is signed and submitted with a non-refundable registration fee of $225, you will be considered an enrolled student at King's Schools. Enrollment must be completed by May 1st or the applicant's spot will be given to the next applicant on the waiting list. After enrollment is complete, the student's I-20 will be mailed to, or can be picked up by, the student's guardian upon notification from our business office.
Supplemental Documents Required:
• Academic records from the past two years, or entire high school transcript for 12th grade applicants.
• One teacher recommendation.
• Completed family information sheet.
• Copy of student passport.
• Copy of student VISA, if student hold a current VISA.
• English proficiency exam results.
Admission to Junior High:
iTEP SLATE PLUS: Score of 3.7 or better for all incoming 7th and 8th grade students.
Admission to High School:
Applicant must submit results from ONE of the following test options.
iTEP SLATE PLUS:
- 9th and 10th grade: required score of 4 or better.
- 11th grade: required score of 5 or better.
- 12th grade: required score of 6 or better.
TOEFL: score of 61 or better for all incoming 9th through 12th grade students.
IELTS: score of 6.0 or better for all incoming 9th through 12th grade students.
King's Schools has partnered with A.C.E. Language Institute and will waive the need for one of the above tests with the completion of Level 5 at A.C.E. Language Institute. No contingent acceptances will be given prior to level 5 completion.
We do NOT accept the SLEP test.
King's Schools do not offer any ESL courses. King's requires that International students enter the school year at grade level, proficient in English.
Guardian and Host Family Information
King's Schools does not offer boarding for International students and requires that all International students not living with their natural parent(s) or guardian reside with a host family over 30 years of age in proximity to King's Schools. It is the responsibility of the student to make their own arrangements for a host family while attending King's Schools.
