King’s Family Series Presents…

October 29, 2018

Technology is an extremely powerful tool that has connected today’s world more than ever, but is it helping or hurting us? Over the last decade as the internet has expanded its platforms, more people are drawn to creating their own online presence with social media sites like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

While there are many positive aspects of technology and social media, there is enough cause for concern to raise questions on its critical nature.

King’s Schools is partnering with ParentMap Magazine to explore the impact of social media on the lives of our children and to bring awareness of the role technology plays in today’s society at an exclusive film screening of the IndieFlix documentary “LIKE” on Thursday, November 15th at 7:00pm. By understanding the effects of technology and social media on the brain, on our lives and on our civilization, we can learn how to navigate it safely.

Following the film screening, there will be a Q&A with Dr. Jantz and Dr. Kastner.

Dr. Jantz is a King’s parent and a best-selling author of 35 books. He is a go-to media source expert for a range of behavioral-based afflictions, as well as drug and alcohol addictions. Dr. Jantz has appeared on CNN, FOX, ABC, CBS, and has been interviewed for the New York Post, Associated Press, Family Circle, and Women’s Day. He is also a regular contributor to The Huffington Post and Psychology Today blogs.

Dr. Laura Kastner is a clinical psychologist who has conducted research, maintained a clinical practice and presented numerous workshops for parents. She is a clinical professor in both the psychology department and the department of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Washington.
