King’s Family Series
November 15, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Today we are more connected then ever, but is it helping or hurting us?
Join ParentMap and King’s Schools as we explore the impact of social media on our lives at the screening of the original IndieFlix documentary “LIKE.”
Technology is a tool. It’s here to stay and social platforms are a place to connect, share and care, but what’s really happening? Are we addicted? How do we stop? Where do we start? What do we need to know? By understanding the effects of technology and social media on the brain, on our lives and on our civilization, we can learn how to navigate it.
Following the film screening, there will be a Q&A with Dr. Gregg Jantz and Dr. Laura Kastner for those interested in learning more.
Dr. Jantz is a King’s parent and a best-selling author of 35 books. He is a go-to media source expert for a range of behavioral-based afflictions, as well as drug and alcohol addictions. Dr. Jantz has appeared on CNN, FOX, ABC, CBS, and has been interviewed for the New York Post, Associated Press, Family Circle, and Women’s Day. He is also a regular contributor to The Huffington Post and Psychology Today blogs.
Dr. Laura Kastner is a clinical psychologist who has conducted research, maintained a clinical practice and presented numerous workshops for parents. She is a clinical professor in both the psychology department and the department of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the University of Washington.
