At King’s High School, in Shoreline, WA, the DECA Program’s (Distributive Education Clubs of America) Annual Holiday Show embodies the spirit of giving and service while empowering students with real-world skills. DECA’s vision is to, “prepare innovative leaders and entrepreneurs who make a positive social and global impact.” This initiative, specifically at King’s Schools, is a hallmark of our commitment to excellence in Christian education, blending academic achievement, community engagement, and spiritual growth.
The DECA program at King’s puts on several trade shows throughout the year, which includes a Holiday event where they partner with several local businesses in Shoreline and bring the King’s community goods to purchase as Christmas gifts for loved ones. The DECA Annual Holiday Show is more than a partnership—it is a demonstration of Christ’s love in action. Each year, students plan, market, and execute a project that uplifts families and individuals in need. Whether it involves collecting donations, organizing community events, or creating care packages, the initiative showcases how faith and business skills can create tangible benefits.
This year, on December 6, 2024, King’s students will be hosting our DECA Annual Holiday Show and Arts Festival. The DECA holiday show will be from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM in the King’s Garden Gym and will include holiday shopping, local vendors, and food trucks. Following the holiday show, join us for the Arts Festival from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM in Schirmer Auditorium. The art gallery will be open the entire time and there will be three pottery wheel demonstrations at 5:15, 6:15, and 7:15. There will also be performances from King’s choirs and acting classes. The orchestra and choir will be performing at 5:00pm followed by the Junior High musical, Annie Jr at 6:00 PM. At 6:30 PM, the High School acting class will be performing Nick of Time Christmas and then High School improv will perform afterwards at 7:00 PM. The night will finish with the high school musical production of Cinderella at 7:30 PM.
