King’s High School DECA Program’s Annual Holiday Gift Show is just around the corner.

When: December 1st, 2023
Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Where: King’s Garden Gymnasium: 19400 Greenwood Ave N, Shoreline, WA 98133

This eagerly anticipated event promises a delightful shopping experience featuring a diverse lineup of vendors, each partnered with our enthusiastic students. The Holiday Show is the perfect opportunity to jumpstart your holiday shopping.

The King’s Holiday Gift Show has become a cherished tradition, beloved by our dedicated staff, students, and supportive community members. Not only does it offer a convenient one-stop shopping extravaganza for busy families, but it also marks the beginning of the festive holiday season. Moreover, every penny earned from this event directly contributes to the success of the King’s High School DECA program, renowned as one of the most robust programs in our state. As the Holiday Show is entirely student-led, it provides invaluable experience in customer service and marketing, honing essential skills that will benefit our students in DECA competitions and their future careers.

The show has grown, and the student leaders consistently strive to enhance the event. In its nascent stages, students primarily crafted homemade products and held the show in the high school lounge. Now, students collaborate with local vendors, and last year, nearly half of the students formed partnerships with professional businesses in the greater Seattle area. Subsequently, it transitioned to the Schirmer Auditorium before finally expanding to the expansive King’s Garden Gym.

The Holiday Show has a rich history of enabling students to apply the marketing skills they acquire in the classroom to the real world. It equips them with vital skills in communication, professionalism, and salesmanship and fosters confidence in their ability to collaborate and engage with adults effectively. Also, it serves as a three-dimensional learning experience, providing invaluable insights into the practical applications of their academic knowledge and how it can shape their future careers and opportunities.
